Had my first appointment here last week it was a great experience I’d recommend my family and friends to this office they were all very professional from their front office to their back office I was greeted and helped by Josephine who was professional and went over everything with me in detail. Dr.Altwal was also polite and straightforward which I like. I had my teeth cleaning by Mari she was very gentle but also attentive in the areas that needed a little extra care. I have had the worst experiences the past few years trying to find a dentist that takes my insurance and is "decent." I wasn't even expecting much. Just the bare minimum at this point. So when I had reached my limit being treated so poorly. Made to feel like I didn't even get a cleaning or regular check up. Instead I had to be pointing out my concerns and at that point... it required root canals, crowns. I felt they cared more about how much money they could make than my oral health. It was just yucky. I don't like confrontation so I kept quiet until I decided to look for another dentist. I had no expectations but OMG when I got seen at City Family Dental... I immediately felt comfortable, welcomed and most importantly.... hopeful. Everyone from the front desk, to the assistants, hygienist and dentist himself were beyond kind and friendly. The dentist was very informative and gentle. I can't recommend this place enough. They are genuinely a great dental office.

They didn't diagnose me with a million different questionable things like some dentists I've had in the past, and they didn't make my dental cleaning feel like some medieval torture, which was my experience in Turlock. The facility is clean and modern and treatment is prompt. Most importantly, they accept denti-cal which unfortunately most quality dentists do not, and I really appreciate that as my bad experiences with dentists in this area kept me from getting my dental issues addressed for a few years after I lost my insurance. Love this Dentist. Took my sister in for a consultation, and she walked out with teeth. Her anxiety was so high she wanted to leave before the doctor even came into the room. Once he came in, he discussed everything with her, explaining everything to her and calmed her down. She got more information in this one visit than she has in the last 5 visit with other dentist. I have had the worst experiences the past few years trying to find a dentist that takes my insurance and is "decent." I wasn't even expecting much. Just the bare minimum at this point. So when I had reached my limit being treated so poorly. Made to feel like I didn't even get a cleaning or regular check up. Instead I had to be pointing out my concerns and at that point... it required root canals, crowns. I felt they cared more about how much money they could make than my oral health. It was just yucky. I don't like confrontation so I kept quiet until I decided to look for another dentist. I had no expectations but OMG when I got seen at City Family Dental... I immediately felt comfortable, welcomed and most importantly.... hopeful. Everyone from the front desk, to the assistants, hygienist and dentist himself were beyond kind and friendly. The dentist was very informative and gentle. I can't recommend this place enough. They are genuinely a great dental office.

They didn't diagnose me with a million different questionable things like some dentists I've had in the past, and they didn't make my dental cleaning feel like some medieval torture, which was my experience in Turlock. The facility is clean and modern and treatment is prompt. Most importantly, they accept denti-cal which unfortunately most quality dentists do not, and I really appreciate that as my bad experiences with dentists in this area kept me from getting my dental issues addressed for a few years after I lost my insurance. Overall my experience and that of my family has been great and I would recommend them.

He completely transformed my smile which I am so very grateful for. I regretfully forgot the name of the staff member who did all my crowns/impressions (I believe it was Mari) but she was the best at her job she was so professional and worked very hard to make sure all my new crowns and even my existing crowns matched in shade. She played such a big part in transforming my teeth and making sure I was happy with my new smile. All of the staff members are awesome but Sarah at the front desk, the very kind woman who did all of my crown impressions, and Dr. Altwal are the absolute best!

Love this Dentist. Took my sister in for a consultation, and she walked out with teeth. Her anxiety was so high she wanted to leave before the doctor even came into the room. Once he came in, he discussed everything with her, explaining everything to her and calmed her down. She got more information in this one visit than she has in the last 5 visit with other dentist.
